Since our update earlier in the week, the Government, Football Association and Hertfordshire County FA have all revised their guidance. In particular the guidance from Herts FA is now as follows:
'Following the Government’s announcement today, for people to avoid social contact and gatherings where possible, we are now advising that all grassroots football in Hertfordshire is postponed for the foreseeable future.'
This means all matches AND training and includes friendlies. To be very transparent about this, there will be no CCYFC sanctioned football until further notice. The club pitches cannot be used, nor any of the CCYFC booked training slots at the various venues we use, and there will no coverage from CCYFC insurance.
Whilst we have yet to make a decision about our tournament, it seems very unlikely that this will take place in mid-May, similarly with the Awards in early June. Once we have made a final decision on these we will update you.
These are clearly very difficult times, and I do hope that you your loved ones are safe and well and remain so. The football club is in a very strong position, and as you are aware has some very exciting developments on the horizon. CCYFC will be there for our 650 fantastic players as soon as we are able to start football activities once again.
